New Product Development of aircraft engine speed sensors, temperature, and pressure sensors, cables and harnesses for GE F-22 aircraft engines. Worked with design engineers, production, quality, purchasing and tool design. Wrote Work Insructions, BOMs & and specifications. These included brazing, welding, soldering, coil winding, impregnation of compounds, oven curing, leak testing, and tool and fixture design. Generated DFSS and PFMEA spread sheets. Supervised production personnel on assembly. Subimitted 1st articles to QA for buy-off.


CORPORATE NPI ENGINEER

Sparton Electronics March 2006 - November 2006 (8 months)
New Product Introduction of printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies for contract pc board manufacturer. Wrote assembly processes and BOM,'s using Valor and Agile s/w. Sign off with QE for incoming vendor components. Root Cause and analysis on quality defects. Heavy floor support. Part of team sent to Goodrich Aerospace, Vergennes, VT for transition of customers products to Sparton.

New Product Introduction of power supplies for DoD. Wrote assembly processes, tooling and BOM's for

K-Byte Manufacturing, Div. Of Reptron Electronics May 1999 - February 2000 (9 months)
Pilot start up of 60 different PC board assemblies for LTX (customer). Develop routers, instructions, visual aids, and specify related tooling for component prep, board prep, axial & DIP insertion, pick & place, ovens, wave solder, post solder and final assembly. Bring pilot runs into production phase by having process owners, QA & plant manager sign off on BOM's, routers, visual aids & operation sheets. Direct customer interface. Other customers included DeLaRue, Pole Zero and Tecom.

Set up wave solders machine, ECD washer & dryer, wire cutting and Amp crimp machines for the manufacture of high speed thermal printers and ruggedized computers & peripherals. Solve production problems on start-up programs. Design production fixtures and tooling. Equipment included Electrovert Econ-o-Pak wave solder & Schleuniger wire cutter. Wrote assembly processes and took 35mm photos for assembly visual aids of PC desktop & rack mounted modems, routers, etc. These processes included assembly, test and burn-in thru finished goods. Analyzed, ordered & implemented production tooling for high speed assembly lines. Hands on floor support. Nine SMT lines with DEC screen printers, Panasert pick & place and chip shooters, Centronic ovens and Soltec wave solder machines.

Westinghouse Naval Systems Div October 1994 - March 1995 (5 months)
Wrote AIO's (Assembly Inspection Operations) with graphics on HP Apollo workstation with Domain O/S and MODS software for printed circuit boards and electro-mechanical assemblies. Hands on floor support. These processes were modifications for ADCAP (Additional Capabilities) MK 48 torpedoes, to MIL-STD-2000. Specified & ordered associated tooling and fixtures.
